GONE GIRL Full Trailer Drops!

A couple months ago, we got our first tease of David Fincher's new film, GONE GIRL, based on the popular best seller. The teaser was a perfect to give minimal amount of details, but still enticed us enough to keep us interested.

Now we have a full length trailer, which is chalked full of great scenes that just add to the mystery of the story. Be careful though. If you want to complete be surprised and not know anything about the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Ben Affleck's wife, then I suggest skipping the trailer.

If not, check it out after the break.

GONE GIRL Teaser Drops!

I'm a pretty avid reader, but every once in a while, a book hooks me so fast that I can read it within a day. Gone Girl was the last book that did that to me. I couldn't put it down, and I wasn't alone. Almost overnight, it became THE book that everyone was reading. Of course, that means a movie adaptation was inevitable, but with this cast, director David Fincher, and the writer of the book, Gillian Flynn, also penning the film, there's hope that this will turn out well.

Here's the synopsis:
Marriage can be a real killer. On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy’s diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

Check the trailer after the break.

Soundtrack Review: THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO Soundtrack

Javi here. As part of a way of bringing more (hopefully) interesting content apart from the movie trailers, reviews, and news, I'll be trying, to the best of my abilities, to write some soundtrack reviews. Talk to me, and you know I dig my music even if I don't like the music culture that has developed in the last year. Regardless, music scores are a point of contention among many music fans. I know that NPR All Songs Considered host, Bob Boilen, has called music scores cheesy and manipulative. He says that they cheapen the scene by playing strategically placed uplifting or somber strings. What it sounds like, to me, is that he heard a really cheesy low-brow score for some British Oscar-bait film.

I truly believe that there a good place for music to elevate a scene in a movie beyond  to make it memorable. There's a reason why the theme songs to so many older and iconic movies are now nothing more than pop culture cliches (I'm looking at you, 2001: SPACE ODYSSEY theme). It's because the images that they are paired with sync in a way that is transcendent. But enough introductions, hit the jump for the review.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO Soundtrack Pre-Sale and Sampler

Javi here. As I have posted before, I am looking forward to the upcoming David Fincher remake of the original Danish movie based on the book, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. I haven't gotten around to reading the books, and I honestly thought the original movie was all build-up with a horribly paced pay-off. The only highlight was Noomi Rapace as new icon, Lisbeth Salander, and even then she just reminded me of a smarter version of an ex-girlfriend from back in college.

Regardless, we have this new version coming. David Fincher has surprised me as a director as of late, plus I'm very fascinated by the transformation of Rooney Mara, who will now be playing the Lisbeth character. And because it's David Fincher, it is now necessary for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to be the ones that created the score for this movie. Now, we have full details of the release and even a link for an awesome 6-track sampler. Check them out after the jump.

Cover for THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO Soundtrack Revealed

Javi here. I'm not going to lie; a big part of the reason I was so excited about THE SOCIAL NETWORK was that Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor and his long-time collaborator Atticus Ross. When the movie came out, I couldn't believe that the guy that wrote THE FRAGILE had created something some eerily beautiful, but I guess that's what age and sobriety do to any goth kid. But this year, the two musicians have teamed up with SOCIAL NETWORK director David Fincher for his new movie THE GIRLWITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, which has me all sorts of excited again. And we just got our first look at the cover.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO trailer hits! Plus the International teaser poster

After the red-band trailer hit Europe and some theatres in the US and after a bootleg version hit YouTube, we now (officially) have our first teaser for David Fincher's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. The trailer is fast-paced and makes the movie look damn exciting, and actually makes me somewhat want to see the movie. (I read the book like most of the world, but didn't care too much for it, and I thought the original movie was slow and kind of boring.)

This will no doubt be one of the biggest hits of the Christmas season and the year.  The first book sold 30 million copies worldwide and has been one of the "must-reads" for the past couple of years.

Synopsis: An investigative journalist, Mikael Blomkvist, is hired to solve a very old missing persons case. During the investigation, he befriends Lisbeth Salander, local computer hacker, and together they team up to solve the mystery.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO will be released this Christmas starring Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, and Stellan Skarsgard.
