STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Teaser is Here!

At least Abrams and crew know how to cut a trailer. I've not been pretty vocal about it here,  but I am over STAR WARS as a whole. The brand has saturated pop culture to the point of making what was once of the scariest villains in movies, Darth Vader, a punch line through merchandising. Lucas' decision to further alter the movies in the Blu-ray set further cemented my feelings. As such, when news of THE FORCE AWAKENS comes out, they're met with complete apathy. Still, I knew that the teaser would be a huge deal so I had to watch it and I'm glad I did. Check it out after the break thanks to the Star Wars YouTube channel.

ENDER'S GAME Trailer Drops!

There's a reason why Ender's Game is considered to be one of the best young adult sic-fi books ever written. It's smart, action packed, and actually has fantastic character development. And after seeing the teaser trailer and now the full trailer for the film adaptation, you can definitely say the movie will be at least one of those three things.

In the future, Earth is attacked by aliens called buggers. The buggers almost destroyed everything. Now to fight back, the International Military is training children from a young age to find the right leader to destroy the buggers once and for all. Ender shows that promise, and the book tells his story of struggle of being isolated and the pressure put upon him. Whether that will be portrayed in the film...the trailers aren't looking too hopeful.

Check it out.

ENDER'S GAME Teaser Drops!

It's a shame that author Orson Scott Card is such a homophobic jerk because his novel, Ender's Game, is really quite stunning. It's a fantastic sci-fi story that starts small then builds and becomes this grand tale by the end. I have hope for film and even in the film makers to fix some of the problems in the book, which I'm sure I will get into when the review comes out.

Now that the first teaser is out, we can begin to see the real scope of the world that was orginially just limited to my imagination. But most importantly, we get our first, ever so tiny, glimpses of the zero gravity battle room, which was the most exciting part of the book.

Here's the synopsis:
After an alien race called the Formics attacks Earth, the International Fleet prepare for the next invasion by training the best young children to find the future leader to lead the International Military. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy but strategically brilliant boy, is pulled out of his school to join International Fleet and attend the legendary Battle School. After easily mastering the increasingly difficult war games, distinguishing himself and winning respect among his peers, Ender is soon ordained by Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) as the military's next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he's trained by Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley) himself to lead the military into a war that will determine the future of Earth and the human race.

Check the trailer after the jump.

ENDER'S GAME Casting News Galore!

The adaptation of Orson Scott Card's sci-fy classic ENDER'S GAME has been a tumolutous one. The book is about a futuristic Earth that has been attacked by aliens, The Buggers, and the military recruits young kids to be groomed into leaders to fight The Buggers.  Card had developed a script as far back as 2003 working with Warner Bros. and Wolfgang Peterson. The project fell through for many years, but now Summit Entertainment has picked up distribution rights. With the almost perfect timing with the new craze of young adult book-to-movie adaptations nowadays, production is finally starting to kick into gear with a finished script by director Gavin Hood with the producing duo of Kurtzman and Orci.

COWBOYS AND ALIENS full trailer

We've been treated with a couple teaser trailers over past few months from Jon Favreau's new western sci-fi (never thought we'd hear that combo) COWBOYS AND ALIENS.  Favreau announced on his twitter that a full trailer would premiere tonight on American Idol.

Up until now for those of us who didn't read the comic, details about the plot have a been vague, but this trailer gives a clearer picture of maybe why the aliens are coming.  From the trailer, the movie looks the perfect, fun, wild, summer action movie.

A full embedded trailer is not available yet, but you can check it out in high definition at Apple.com here!

COWBOYS & ALIENS will be released July 29th starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde.

COWBOYS Vs. ALIENS Super Bowl Trailer

Just a quick post... Director Jon Favreau, has tweeted to the world that he will unveil the new COWBOYS VS. ALIENS trailer so everyone could see it before the Super Bowl.

Here it is guys:

Not gonna lie, as silly as the premise might be, I'm pretty excited for this. At least you get the campiness right up front, so we can enjoy the movie for what it is. Then again, Favreau has done quite a bit with a second tier character like Iron Man, so maybe he can make this movie even better.

Cowboys vs. Aliens trailer!

We all got a real treat today. After being teased on Jon Favreau's twitter yesterday, he posted the teaser trailer to Cowboys vs. Aliens earlier today.  Footage was shown at Comic Con this year to much excitement and anticipation.   The concept seems kind of elementary...I mean it's cowboys and aliens, and the title of the movie itself is a spoiler alert, but why not?!  Why can't aliens attack in the old west?  Now westerns have never really been my cup of tea, but adding aliens definitily intrigues me.  Then when I heard that Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford were starring?? Count me in!

This trailer made me even more excited for the movie.  The action looks fun, and it makes me wonder how the cowboys will defeat the aliens.  Seriously!  Some times new genres come along that shouldn't work together but somehow they do, like Horror-Comedy.  Maybe Jon Favreau will create a new genre with the hopeful success of this movie...Syfy-Western.
