Javi here. I seriously can't tell you how happy the last 5 seconds of this trailer made me. Ever since that fateful night when a cute girl dragged me to see STEP UP 2 THE STREETS, I have freaking LOVED the STEP UP franchise, Chaning Tatum included. For one, as the most rhythmically challenged Mexican I know, I am uber envious of those dancers with their poppin' and lockin' moves. Plus, the franchise has increasingly gotten more insane and ambitious in the dancing routines.
As I mentioned on Twitter, I kind of wish that the plot didn't center around flash mobs. Between FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS and 2 BROKE GIRLS having scenes with flash mobs and feeling dated already, I don't know how this movie will top the last movie.....On the other hand, I think the dancing will totally make up for the mob gimmick. STEP UP REVOLUTION comes out July 27th, 2012. It is directed by Scott Speer, written by Jenny Mayer and stars Kathryn McCormick and Ryan Guzman.
