It feels that sooner than later we are going to hit Peak Superhero Movies. Just looking at the next 5 years alone can make you think that. It doesn't mean, however, that we won't have a good time getting tired of comic book movies. All of this goes to say that the new AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON trailer looks rad as hell. There's a lot more implied plot points here and even themes that might carry out all through CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. The trailer comes courtesy of the ridiculous Twitter marketing stunt and Marvel Entertainment YouTube page and you can check it out below.
Marvel has been doing a fantastic job at just giving us little teases of their next Avengers film. The first trailer gave us a glimpse to the James Spader's Ultron persona, which I have a feeling will steal the film. And now a trailer was released tonight which shows much more action!
Here's the synopsis:
With S.H.I.E.L.D. destroyed and the Avengers needing a hiatus from stopping threats, Tony Stark attempts to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program with Ultron, a self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence. However, his plan backfires when Ultron decides that humans are the main enemy and sets out to eradicate them from Earth, and it is up to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, along with support from Nick Fury and Maria Hill, to stop him from enacting his plans. Along the way, the Avengers encounter the powerful twins, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, as well as the familiar Vision.
It's here. Finally. No more waiting and guessing what we will see. Through not the best of circumstances, the first teaser for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON has been leaked onto the web. It's full of everything you could want in a teaser, and will make the waiting over the next six months very, very painful.
If you're not a fan of the Super Bowl, there's always one shining aspect of this night…all the movie trailers!
First up, we have the second trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. We were treated to a trailer a few months ago, but this new one looks fantastic.
Here's the synopsis:
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.
Marvel's second wave of films started this summer with IRON MAN 3, THOR 2 in a couple weeks, and then we will get Captain America's second film early spring. The first Captain America film was one of the strongest individual films in the Avenger's world, and from the looks of the first official trailer, the sequel looks just as compelling.

Jonesy here. I'm not a comic aficionado by any sort of stretch of any kind of imagination. In fact, I pretty much fall into the stereotypical type who enjoys comics through the movie format. Shame on me, but in all honesty, that's resources and time I don't have. And if I have any questions, I just go to my buddies who know those worlds.
Now THE AVENGERS movie has intrigued me from the beginning. Not necessarily for the characters, but for the strange experiment the studio is doing. I think it's an absolutely fascinating experiment to release movies about the individual characters first that all lead up and bring them together into the culminating film. So far, the experiment has worked. And now this summer, we get the culmination of THE AVENGERS.
We saw a teaser last fall, at the end of CAPTAIN AMERICA, and during the Super Bowl. This new one expands more on the Super Bowl trailer showing more character interaction (which looks hilarious), angry Loki (yay Tom Hiddleston!), and some sort of Transformers figure (who I guess needs work in-between Transformers films).
Check it out!
That Michael Bay-esque rotating shot towards the end is still one of my favorites.
THE AVENGERS will be released May 4, 2012 starring Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johannson, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston and Jeremy Renner.
Just in time for the holiday season reminding us it is never too early to start thinking about next summer, we have our first look at the new Avengers.
The teaser looks pretty badass with some fun character interactions, but there's almost nothing about the plot of the movie. Someone or something is shooting from space and hating on our big cities as always. And the earth may perish, but I'll be damned if they won't avenge us! Also, I guess cool gals don't look at explosions.
I'm really stoked to see the culmination of years worth of build up. This experiment of having multiple movies set up each of the perspective characters hasn't really been done before, and I'm excited to see them all come together.
So will this movie experiment pay off? and I guess the bigger question is....will it beat THE DARK KNIGHT RISES next summer in at the box office?
Thoughts? Are you as excited as we are??

In what can be considered the biggest and most expensive marketing campaign ever for a movie (THE AVENGERS), we have now have the first look into the first of two movies that will lead up to the events of the biggest superhero movie ever. CAPTAIN AMERICA's new trailer hit last night, and apart from the goofy looking pre-steroid Chris Evans, the movie looks so good. The amount of action will be insane from the looks of it with a good ol' patriotic feel to it. Anyway, enjoy guys!
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER opens July 20, 2011. It is directed by Joe Johnston, it stars Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, and Stanley Tucci. Tweet
Here's a big old post with more trailers from the Super Bowl so far!
First up, is BATTLE: LOST ANGELES. This movie has me excited of being a different kind of alien invasion movie. It seems to have more of the gritty, urban warfare style. It's a welcome change instead of more wise cracking Will Smith movies. My only apprehension is SKYLINE looked just as cool if not more, and well...we know what happened there.
The CAPTAIN AMERICA teaser is very effective, showing quick part of the origin story with Chris Evans going through his transformation. The best part was the single image of Hugo Weaving as The Red Skull. I'm pretty lukewarm on this movie, as it reminds me of lower tier Marvel movies like DAREDEVIL and THE FANTASTIC FOUR.
RANGO, was a movie I was very apprehensive against, but I have warmed up to it. Once the earlier trailers hit and I got a feel for the style and the type of story it was, I'm more excited for what will be Johnny Depp's redeeming performance after ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
THOR was a particularly great teaser, and it gave enough action shots that make you wonder what the hell is going on. It's very well cut, and the scope of the movie seems to be epic on scale, that will probably be matched only by THE AVENGERS movie. Two complaints...what's Sauron doing here, and please don't let their be too much love/hate banter between Thor and Natalie Portman's character.
