Javi's Top Ten Movies of 2013

Try as I may, I didn't reach my goal of watching 365 movies this year. But I was fortunate enough to see some amazing films in the meantime. As I do every year, I am taking into account movies that were released theatrically during 2013, and as always, they won't be in any particular order, except my absolute favorite movie of the year. There's no pretentiousness here, just movies that either spoke or made an impact on me.

Just like Jonesy, here's my favorite movies for the last six-ish months. It's been a rather interesting year in that I honestly haven't been to the theater that much. I've been focusing on looking at older movies, TV shows, and of course, my Godzilla project. But there are some definite gems. These are just personal favorites despite any critical acclaim: 

Jonesy's Most Anticipated DIFF 2013 Films

We're just a couple days away from the 2013 Dallas International Film Festival. This festival is getting bigger every year, and as always, the programmers offer up a plethora of new and classic film screenings. One aspect I always enjoy about this specific festival is that it is a work-friendly festival. Most of the screenings during the week happen after the work day ends, so you don't have to worry about taking vacation days. I'm ready to be surprised by the films I will see, and here are five that I'm most looking forward to.
