New MAN OF STEEL Trailer Has 1000% More Zod

Forget all the whimsical and introspective teasers and the epic full length trailer (though that one is pretty awesome). This new MAN OF STEEL trailer focuses on the person who will more than likely steal, no pun intended, the film, General Zod portrayed by Michael Shannon. I have complete faith in Michael Shannon and his capabilities to portray evil. In fact, he's the main reason I've been so excited for this film.

We got a few seconds of his crazy eyes in the epic trailer, but here, we find out a little more of his intentions. This trailer also shows more/different pieces of action that he haven't seen in previous ones. Oh yes, and it has a bit more Amy Adams.

MAN OF STEEL Trailer Drops!

Could it be possible that a Superman movie could cause this much anticipation? The first few stills of the film looked a little cheesy, but then when the teaser trailer dropped, it made me sit up and pay attention. Also, seeing the teaser trailer on the IMAX screen may or may not have given me goosebumps.

Now, the full length trailer is here with tons and tons of footage including some humor and plenty of amazing action. There's so much to cipher through that this requires more than one view. Here's to hoping that director Zack Synder took a note from Christopher Nolan's, who served as a producer, book of how to make superhero movies and created a Superman film with some emotional depth.

MAN OF STEEL trailer is so dark and gritty, it's almost like a Batman movie

Just in case you guys couldn't tell I was joking. It's really not. Reading some of the reactions of fellow writer types online, I kept on seeing the "dark and gritty" description being used again and again to describe this trailer. I respectfully say "y'all be trippin'." I think MAN OF STEEL looks interesting. This looks to be a more refined approach the more thoughtful type of Superman we got in SUPERMAN RETURNS. And I'll be honest, I've never been a big fan of the Superman character in most media, so I'm always open to a new direction or interpretation for the character. Check out this gorgeous trailer courtesy of the Warner Bros YouTube page below.

Stream the Jonny Greenwood score for THE MASTER now!

Javi here. If you're at all into movies, you've been anticipating the release of the next Paul Thomas anderson movie, THE MASTER, his first movie since 2007's THERE WILL BE BLOOD. The movie deals with a not-Scientology-like of cult surrouding a not-L. Ron Hubbard-like character in a suspiciously similar time frame. As much as I want to see the movie, I am also interested a lot in the soundtrack. The director is working once again with Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and I am happy to say that thanks to Paste Magazine, we have word that the album is now streaming ahead of its actual release. go listen to the soundtrack here on Spotify!

I particularly like Greenwood's scores becuase he is someone that has always grown and gotten more profificent in compositions and layers within Radiohead. It's interesting that someone that can fill stadiums has been quoted to say that he gets a bigger thrill from composing and directing an orchestra than playing art-rock. Look for a full review of the soundtrack from me before Fantastic Fest.

THE MASTER comes out on September 21st. It is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and stars Philip Seymour, Joaquin Phoenix, and Amy Adams.

THE MASTER Trailer Drops!

It's been a while, but director Paul Thomas Anderson is back. We haven't seen anything from him since his 2007's THERE WILL BE BLOOD (a close and important movie to this site), and now he returns with THE MASTER.

The plot follows a young, charismatic intellectual (Philip Seymour Hoffman) as he launches a religious organization following WWII. A drifter (Joaquin Phoenix) becomes his right hand man, but as the new religion begins to have a fervent following, the drifter finds himself questioning the belief system of his mentor.

A Non-Parody Trailer For THE MUPPETS!

With some of the most clever and nerdy marketing behind the movie, Disney has finally decided to show us a more traditional trailer for the upcoming THE MUPPETS movie starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams. There's not much to say about this one, I'm just glad that we're now getting a glimpse into the plot of the movie and a seemingly endless string of minor celebrity cameos. Now, just watch it and let it brighten your day.

THE MUPPETS comes out November 23, 2011 and it's directed by James Bobin. It stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Kermit The Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fonzie, and Animal.

First look at Henry Cavill as Superman from Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL

When Superman is mentioned to the common minion, like myself, I think of the clean cut, bright-colored suit wearing, all-American Superman:

However, the new Zack Snyder reboot, MAN OF STEEL, is not your grandmother's Superman.  We are still a little less than two years away from the release of MAN OF STEEL, but that doesn't stop Warner Bros from releasing the first picture of Henry Cavill as the new Superman to get the the buzz going.
