Sportsball Trailer Watch: TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION
Surprisingly, this is the first TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXCTINCTION post in a long time. There's really been very very little information revealed about the movie so far beyond the fact that there will be Dinobots and cars that turn into robots.
Here's the synopsis:
"As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON', Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet."
"However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control - all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues."
Now we have our first teaser trailer for the movie. Check it out after the break.

New A FIELD IN ENGLAND U.S. Poster & Trailer Will Melt Minds
Even if I wasn't too thrilled about director Ben Wheatley's latest movie, A FIELD IN ENGLAND, it doesn't mean others might not be able to find it an amazing experience. We now have confirmation that you will be able to see the movie on VOD platforms and in a limited theater run. Having seen the movie, I cannot recommend enough that you experience this in theaters. You've seen the great new poster, now check out the American-ized and Scorsese-approved trailer after the break.

MALEFICENT Trailer Sure Has Dark CGI Environments
It seems that Disney is bent on riding the CGI/live action fairy tale bandwagon for all it's worth. Today, thanks to the Disney Movie Trailers YouTube channel, we have the first trailer for the upcoming MALEFICENT. Incidentally, the coolest of the evil witch characters in the Disney canon. Check out the trailer below.

New GODZILLA Teaser Will Make You Forget 1998 (Update)
(Edit: It seems that Legendary and Warner Brothers have pulled that clip offline. We'll update this posted when the official one comes out.)
Despite his place in popular culture as a constant icon in the last 59 years, most people remember Godzilla as a goofy man-in-a-suit. On the same token, most people don't remember that the original GOJIRA was actually a rather somber movie full with some heavy allegory going on. Going off this teaser that was originally shown off during San Diego Comic Con, it seems that Gareth Edwards remembers. Thanks to io9, you can check out the trailer after the break.

ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW Trailer Is My Childhood Self's Worst Nightmare
This is a total anomaly of a film. The directors managed to not only sneak in cameras in to the Greatest Place on Earth, but they were able to get enough footage to make a movie out of it. It screened at Sundance where it became infamous for this very reason, but a lot of people commented that it would never see a broader audience. Well, they were wrong and thankfully so. Thanks Trailer Addict, we have the first trailer for ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW ahead of its release. Check it out after the break.

The ROBOCOP Trailer Doesn't Need More Black
Having seen ELITE SQUAD 2, there was a sense of optimism when that movie's director, Jose Padilha, was set to direct the ROBOCOP re-make. Both movies have themes of corruption and the "good guys" fighting against societal forces bigger than themselves. Now,thanks to Badass Digest we have the first trailer for the movie. Check it out after the break.

The DEAR MR. WATTERSON Trailer Comes To Warm Your Heart
If there is one pop-culture property that is dear and near to my heart, it would be Calvin and Hobbes, the comic strip by Bill Watterson. Over 10 years, Mr. Watterson created one of the most endearing looks at childhood, imagination, friendship, and even budding romance. After ending the strip in 1995 after various disagreements with his publisher over merchandising, Mr. Watterson became a mysterious figure like a comic version of J.D. Salinger. In the meanwhile, there have been the most annoyingly grotesque misuses of Calvin pissing on things and even worse, "sequels" have popped up on the Internet. Nothing can and will capture the heart of the original but they still exist due to the passion behind that strip. On a personal level, Mr. Watterson's integrity in not buckling to pressures to whore out Calvin and Hobbes as much as what Jim Davies did to Garfield has always been one of the most inspiring things I've heard of.
Director Joel Schroeder decided to take a look at this phenomenon through various interviews and stories from comic creators to fans and took to Kickstarter to be able to finish and now we have a new trailer. Check it out below:

Future Folk Give The Best Intergalactic Press Conference
THE HISTORY OF FUTURE FOLK is a clever romantic comedy musical with amazing songs that I got to see during last year's Fantastic Fest. It tells the very "real" origin story of the bluegrass duo, Future Folk, as its two members, who hail from another planet and discover music on planet Earth. Think an outer space version of Flight of the Conchords. It opens in NY this Friday, and LA next Friday June 7th, while hitting VOD on June 4th. Recently, Future Folk have taken to the press circuit to promote their movie. Check out the video as well as the synopsis for the movie below.

A FIELD IN ENGLAND Trailer Is Haunting AND Confusing
This seems to be the month to talk about English director Ben Wheatley. His amazing movie, THE KILL LIST just came on to Netflix Watch Instant, his newer movie, SIGHTSEERS is currently out on VOD and today, thanks to the YouTube page for Picutrehouse Cinemas, we have a new UK trailer for his next movie, A FIELD IN ENGLAND. As to what exactly is going on, I have no clue... The synopsis is just as confusing but all the more intriguing. Check out the trailer below.

TV Trailers that Look Like a Feature Film: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Edition
Phase two of the Avenger's films has just begun with IRON MAN 3 on the verge of making close to a billion dollars by the time its run is over. There are still several more movies coming down the pipeline, THOR: THE DARK WORLD, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, but to sustain your appetite and expand even more into the Marvel universe, ABC has picked up Joss Whedon's series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agent Coulson is back from his supposed death by Loki, which is a conversation for another time and place, and has put together a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division) agents to investigate strange cases.

The MONSTERS UNIVERSITY Trailer is very OK
Pixar has been on a bit of a slide as of the last few years. Some would argue that this has happened since TOY STORY 2 remake TOY STORY 3 came out. With CARS 2 and BRAVE, I'm afraid that Pixar is getting too Disney-fied. When I heard that there was a prequel to MONSTERS, INC, I was skeptical, and now that there's a new UK trailer out, I'm still skeptical. Check it out below.

PACIFIC RIM Trailer Looks Like a Badass Version of my Childhood
Seriously, this is the most anticipated movie of 2013 for me. Not only do we have director Guillermo Del Toro actually making a movie, but it's a freaking robits (robots) and kaiju (think Godzilla type monsters) fighting for the future of mankind. Watch the trailer, which comes courtesy of Apple via Badass Digest, below.

MAN OF STEEL trailer is so dark and gritty, it's almost like a Batman movie
Just in case you guys couldn't tell I was joking. It's really not. Reading some of the reactions of fellow writer types online, I kept on seeing the "dark and gritty" description being used again and again to describe this trailer. I respectfully say "y'all be trippin'." I think MAN OF STEEL looks interesting. This looks to be a more refined approach the more thoughtful type of Superman we got in SUPERMAN RETURNS. And I'll be honest, I've never been a big fan of the Superman character in most media, so I'm always open to a new direction or interpretation for the character. Check out this gorgeous trailer courtesy of the Warner Bros YouTube page below.
THE LONE RANGER trailer is full of action, explosions, and slight racism?
Johnny Depp has become one of the most hit or miss actors working today. It feels like the PIRATES movies ruined him a little to the point where even his non-blockbuster movies were a little off (see THE RUM DIARIES). So I'm a little skeptical to see him reuniting with director Gore Verbinski with another big Disney movie. What has me interested is the hope that Armie Hammer will have a decent role for once. That guy is charming as hell in interviews and he hasn't been given a chance to shine post-THE SOCIAL NETWORK. So check out the trailer below which comes to us via the folks over at Screen Rant.

DOCTOR WHO Series 7 Trailer Reminds Me How Much I Miss This Show
Javi here. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little exhausted(as you can tell by the main picture). But I just wanted to post about the new trailer of Series 7 (because we just CAN'T say "season" referring to a BBC show), of DOCTOR WHO. Thanks to Den of Geek via Pajiba for the heads up on the trailer.
Nothing is out of the ordinary, the Doctor (Matt Smith) is awesome, Amy is annoying, and the special effects just keep on getting better. I can't wait. It seems the details are sketchy as to when this series will come out, but it seems that they're going for a Fall release with the season being split up by the Christmas special. Stay tuned as we find out more.

Trailer Breakdown: THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN Trailer! Now With 100% More Emma Stone!
Javi here. I have to admit, I sort of forgot that THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN was coming out. There's been very little hype for it. Someone in the marketing department must be taking a vacation because the only thing that people seem to talk about comic book movie-wise is some dudes avenging and some guy rising. Thanks to the official site, which released this at midnight today, we have our first look at the movie. Overall, I'm hyped for this movie a whole lot more now, even though they basically spoil the movie in the trailer, you can see that director Marc Webb tried to do something different here. Count me in on this. Check the trailer after the break and my Trailer Breakdown, where I'll have awesome commentary on the trailer

THE DICTATOR trailer shows us a crazy Cohen character in a "normal" movie.
You know, I actually kind of like Sacha Baron Cohen. He's a great physical comedian and character actor. I've enjoyed his serious acting attempts (HUGO and SWEENEY TODD), and when BORAT was released, I saw it opening night with a bunch of friends, and I remember leaving the theatre with my stomach hurting from laughing so much. Sure it was crude, but it was also such a smart and kind of daring movie.
Now I wasn't as much of a fan of BRUNO. In fact, there were some plot points that the movie could have expanded upon. For example, how does Bruno run into the Westboro Baptist Church crazy people and only spend 2 minutes with them? That was a comedy/social commentary gold mine. But I digress....
Cohen's newest endeavor, THE DICTATOR, is inspired by the novel Zabibah and the King by former Iraqi leader, Sadam Hussein. The film will "tell the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed."
Check the trailer after the break.
