Fantastic Fest 2012 annouces their Fantastic Fest Award winners

Even though I am insanely jealous of all our friends and colleagues that are still down in Austin for Fantastic Fest, I wanted to post about the award winners that were honored yesterday. I am very happy with a lot of the selections especially with the Audience Award Winner which is my favorite movie of the festival so far. Just as a heads-up, we will be having more reviews for the rest of the week and up to next week followed by a "best of" article from both Jonesy and I. For now, check out the award winners after the break.

Austin, TX-Monday, September 24, 2012- Fantastic Fest is thrilled to announce this year's Fantastic Fest Award winners.  It's a terrible task to pick favorites and single out any of the magnificent films that played at this year's festival, but our esteemed team of jurors have done the nearly impossible and chosen the best and most striking films of the festival.

The audience awards are presented by accounting firm Maxwell Locke & Ritter (www.mlrpc.com), who provided the certified tabulation of ballots this year and are the exclusive accounting sponsor of Fantastic Fest.  AMD is the presenter of the prestigious "Next Wave" Awards, which honors emerging filmmakers.  The winner of the "Next Wave" feature award is presented with an elegant AMD/Next Wave Trophy along with AMD-based computer hardware featuring the AMD Accelerated Processing Unit (APU).
