It took me a while to see the original CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS. I enjoyed the book as a child, but I couldn't see how in the world that would translate into a film. However, once again, my cohort sat me down on idle Saturday and made me watch it, and man I loved everything about this film: the world, the puns, and the Mr. T.
Now a mere four years later, we're getting our sequel. The original directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are not back as directors, but they choose two men, Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn, who both worked on the first film, to direct the sequel.

After the disastrous food storm in the first film, Flint and his friends are forced to leave the town. Flint accepts the invitation from his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, which has been tasked to clean the island, and where the best inventors in the world create technologies for the betterment of mankind. When Flint discovers that his machine still operates and now creates mutant food beasts like living pickles, hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees and apple pie-thons, he and his friends must return to save the world.
Oh the puns. So many of them. The world looks just as fun and colorful it brought a tear to my eye...get back in there tear!
CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 will be released September 27, 2013, directed by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn, and stars Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Will Forte, Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, and Kristen Schaal.
