Will Ferrell went through this weird stage in his career after SNL where he was in these mindless comedies. I never particularly was keen on them; however, ANCHORMAN seemed to stick with me. Maybe it was Adam McKay's direction, or perhaps it was the strong comedic cast, but ANCHORMAN is consistently funny even on rewatches.
And guys, a sequel is happening. And not just a haphazard sequel, but a legit same writers, director, and cast sequel. And it looks just as funny and insane as the first.

ANCHORMAN 2 will be released December 20, 2013, is directed by Adam McKay, and stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, David Koechner, Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, and Fred Willard.
