So this weekend in Dallas, we're frozen in thanks to a crappy storm. This is a perfect reason to not leave your couch and watch a bunch of movies. Here's four (!!!) picks to get the weekend going.
This Michael Shannon movie about a hitman who went on to kill over 100 people. While it got mixed reviews, it is also a Michael Shannon movie that makes this a must-see.
I'll admit. I haven't seen this, but based on the premise from Netflix alone, it sounds like an amazing experience: "A visually hypnotizing cinematic feat, Russian Ark is Alexsandr Sokurov's spellbinding ode to St. Petersburg's State Hermitage Museum. Shot in one take on digital video, the film shows the museum from a first-person point of view. As the photography floats through the lavish corridors of the museum, a cast of 867 actors supplies the action -- including The Marquis (Sergey Dreyden), an aged European who acts as the film's charismatic guide."
This is one of my favorite Disney movies. Some of my most vivid childhood memories include the funny squirrel chase, Merlin, and the witch turning into a dragon.
`
Also of special note is one of my favorite movies of this year, director Harmony Korine's SPRING BREAKERS is available to stream through Amazon's Prime Video Library. If you don't have Amazon Prime, you can sign up here.
