The Local Haps: October 6th- October 12th

Now that the storms are over here in Dallas (hopefully), it's time to get out to the local theatres and enjoy some great events. There are plenty of great films going on this week, with my pick happening on Wednesday.

Monday, October 6th
Alamo Drafthouse: A fun, monthly staple at the Drafthouse. This event is only $5 (and it's a food voucher!) and you get to experience a secret American Genre Film Association (AGFA) screening in glorious 35mm. It starts at 8 p.m., and it's fun to follow along with the Drafthouse on social media and use their clues to guess!

Tuesday, October 7th
Alamo Drafthouse: Working their way through all the Bond films each month until the release of the 24th Bond film next year, the Drafthouse will feature BONDTHOLOGY: THE SPY WHO LOVED ME tonight at 7 p.m. If Bond isn't your cup of tea, then the Action Pack is having a quote-along with the Halloween favorite, BEETLEJUICE at 8 p.m.

Texas Theatre: Tuesday Night Trash is here with another trashy movie, THE MANITOU. Best of all...it's free!

Wednesday, October 8th
Alamo Drafthouse: For my pick of the week, I'm recommending another Action Pack event, ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. This film is the perfect interactive film if you like inside jokes, singing along with the music, and scandalous dancing. It starts at 8:15, so put on your best corset and bring your toast to have a blast at one of the classic cult films of the 70's.

Granada Theater: If FREE movies are more your speed, then order yourself a White Russian and enjoy a showing of THE BIG LEBOWSKI on the rooftop of the Sundown at the Granada at 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, October 9th
Alamo Drafthouse: If you want a break from all the Halloween goodness going on, then bring your best girlfriends to the Girlie Night presentation of SIXTEEN CANDLES  at 8:20 p.m.

Angelika Dallas: More Halloween goodness with The Angelika's annual series of Hitchcocktober with a presentation of TO CATCH A THIEF at 8 p.m.

Friday, October 10th
Alamo Drafthouse: Dust off your white gloves for the Michael Jackson sing-along and dance party at 9:30 p.m.

Texas Theatre: First feature at 7:30 will be a documentary feature about America's addiction to oil called PUMP. Then at 9:30, there will be a 15 year anniversary screening of NEVER BEEN KISSED in glorious 35mm.

Angelika Dallas: If you enjoy a late night movie, then there will be a presentation of THE SHINING at 11:30 p.m. HEEEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!

Saturday, October 11th
Texas Theatre: In a one of a kind event, the classic horror film SUSPERIA will be screened along with a special performance by the Dallas Neo-Classic Ballet. Not an event to be missed.

Angelika Dallas: If you enjoy a late night movie, then there will be an encore presentation of THE SHINING at 11:30 p.m.

Sunday, October 12th
Alamo Drafthouse: At 12:30 will be a showing of the classic, THE INVISIBLE MAN. But if a music film is more your speed, then you can come back at 5:30 for a showing of PINK FLOYD THE WALL.

Texas Theatre: Another great event where a live band, The Invisible Czars, will provide a live score to the classic 1928 film, THE WIND.
