The polar vortex has set into Dallas, which means it's the perfect time to stay inside and watch some great movies! There are tons going on this week including various science fiction films, documentaries, and my pick of the week, a live script reading. Enjoy!
Tuesday, November 11th
Alamo Drafthouse: At 7:30 pm, the science fiction classic DARK CITY will show. And the boys of Video Vortex is back with this month's VHS pick, HIGHWAY TO HELL.
The Texas Theatre: INTERSTELLAR will play tonight at 6:30 and 9:50pm. So grab a beer in the lobby and enjoy the spectacle.
Angelika Dallas: One of my favorites, MACBETH, will be showing tonight at 7:00 pm.
Wednesday, November 12th
Alamo Drafthouse: There are couple of unique experiences happening tonight. First, at 6:30pm a presentation of CYANIDE & HAPPINESS SHOW, a new series based on the often controversial webcomic. The creators will be on hand for a Q&A afterwards. Then in my pick of the week, at 8:00pm, there will be another presentation of ScriptsLIVE! where actors read from famous movie scripts, and thought will be from BACK TO THE FUTURE.
Granada Theater: You'll probably need to bring a blanket to this rooftop screening since the weather is starting to get a bit chilly, but CLERKS will be showing at 8:30 for free!
Thursday, November 13th
Alamo Drafthouse: Don't go blaming Canada if you miss the SOUTH PARK MOVIE sing-along even tonight at 7:30 pm.
Friday, November 14th
Alamo Drafthouse: Two great Drafthouse Films will be playing tonight. First, the fantastically bloody, WHY DON'T YOU PLAY IN HELL? will show at 8:30 pm. Then, the documentary, THE OVERNIGHTERS, which has everyone raving, will show at 11:30 pm.
