Netflix Instant Cool TV and Movie Picks

Jonesy here for my picks of the week.  Two are nostalgic movies from my childhood, and I finally put another TV series on my watch list!  Enjoy...

Big

In one of my favorite early Tom Hanks roles, BIG is a story about a boy who makes a wish to be, well, big.  He gets his wish; however, not without it's consequences.  A wonderful movie about the problems with wanting to grow up too quickly and coming to the realization to be happy with where you are in life.  Plus, the movie makes me want to learn the piano!

Radio Flyer

One of my favorite movies as a kid; RADIO FLYER is about two brothers who use their imaginations to escape the brutality of their new stepfather.  Tissues are a must have for this movie.

Flash Forward

A mysterious event causes everyone in the world to simultaneously blackout for 137 seconds and see  premonitions six months into their future.  As that day comes closer and closer, it's up to a team of FBI agents to figure out the cause, who's behind it, and if the premonitions will come true.  FLASH FORWARD was cancelled after only one season, but it had the ideas and seeds to be something great.  A nice cousin for LOST fans.

Netflix Instant: Cool TV & Movie picks

Jonesy here again for my picks for Netflix this week:

Mars Attacks!

Earth is attacked my aliens in Tim Burton's spoof of campy 50's sci-fi movies.  This movie is absolutely ridiculous is the best way possible.  Plus, you will recognize almost EVERYONE in this movie.

Frozen

One of my favorite movies last year, Frozen does to ski lifts what Jaws did for the ocean.  It's man vs. the elements when three friends get trapped on a ski lift with no hope of rescue for three days.  Frozen is thrilling, frightening, and you'll find yourself forgetting to breathe.  Wonderful independent film.

Up

One of the few Pixar movies available on instant, but perhaps one of their best.  Up is a good old-fashioned adventure story pairing two very unlikely people along with a talking dog.  Up is Pixar at its finest with engaging dialogue, stunning visuals, and enormous heart.  It's a movie that everyone can find something to love about it.

Lost

Now there is no excuse.  All six seasons of Lost are now on instant.  Everyday people are stranded on a mysterious island after a plane crash and must stick together to survive. You've heard the hype, now watch the show that captured millions for six seasons.
