OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Teaser Drops!

Unfortunately, we are not at Comic-Con this year, but thankfully between twitter and YouTube, it can almost feel like we're right in the midst of nerds fighting for swag and standing for hours in line for Hall H.

One great thing that always comes out of Comic-Con are the trailers. Studios use this con to promote the hell out of all their big releases. One of the first trailers to come out is for Sam Raimi's OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL. OZ is based on the book by L. Frank Baum which is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, which we all know and hold dear to our hearts.

Check the trailer after the jump.

I want to be excited. I really do. And the casting and director helps, but I cannot escape the fact how similar in style and tone it looks to Tim Burton's ALICE IN WONDERLAND...and we all know how that turned out. Here's to holding out hope.

OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL will be released March 8, 2013, starring James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis, and Zach Braff.
