Javi here with the last bit of pre-Fantastic Fest coverage. Today we have a plethora of new trailers for you. All of these movies will be playing at the festival with subsequent releases in the near future. I've included a brief synopsis as well as the screening times at the festival for anyone that's going. I will say that these trailers all make me wish I could see all of the movies. I think I'll be moving things around to be able to make WAKE IN FRIGHT and MIAMI CONNECTION. Check out the trailers after the break.

When Elena's (Emma Fitzpatrick) friends take her to a secret party at an undisclosed location, she never imagined she would become the latest victim of The Collector, a psychopathic killer. The Collector kidnaps and transports her to an abandoned hotel he's transformed into his own private maze of torture and death. Upon learning of his daughter's disappearance, Elena's wealthy father (Christopher McDonald) hires a group of mercenaries to retrieve her from the vicious grips of The Collector. These mercenaries coerce Arkin (Josh Stewart), the only man to have escaped the wrath of this heinous monster, to lead them through the gruesome labyrinth. Now, Arkin finds himself fighting for his own life in order to save Elena. "The Collection," directed by Marcus Dunstan and written by Dunstan and Patrick Melton, is a suspense horror film with nonstop thrills at every turn, starring Josh Stewart (The Dark Knight Rises), Emma Fitzpatrick (The Social Network), and Christopher McDonald (Requiem for a Dream).

THE COLLECTION screens on Friday September 21, 2012 at 5:45pm.

The year is 1987. Motorcycle ninjas tighten their grip on Florida's narcotics trade, viciously annihilating anyone who dares move in on their turf. Multi-national martialarts rock band Dragon Sound have had enough, and embark on a roundhouse wreck-wave of crime-crushing justice. When not chasing beach bunnies or performing their hit song "Against the Ninja," Mark (taekwondo master/inspirational speaker Y.K. Kim) and the boys are kicking and chopping at the drug world's smelliest underbelly. It'll take every ounce of their blood and courage, but Dragon Sound can't stop until they've completely destroyed the dealers, the drunk bikers, the kill-crazy ninjas, the middle-aged thugs, the "stupid cocaine"...and the entire MIAMI CONNECTION!!!

MIAMI CONNECTION screens Friday September 21, 2012 at 9:00pm.

SINISTER (Red Band Trailer)

SINISTER is a frightening new thriller from the producer of the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films and the writer-director of THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE.  Ethan Hawke plays a true crime novelist who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror.

SINISTER screens on Friday September 21 at 8:35pm and will be released theatrically on October 21.

Alongside MAD MAX and WALKABOUT, WAKE IN FRIGHT is widely acknowledged as one of the seminal films in the development of modern Australian cinema. Combining the backwoods horror of DELIVERANCE and the gritty nihilism of STRAW DOGS, the film tells the story of a British schoolteacher's (Gary Bond) descent into personal demoralization at the hands of drunken, deranged derelicts (including a very inebriated "doctor" played by Donald Pleasence), while stranded in a small town in outback Australia.

Virtually unseen in the US and renowned in its home country after years of neglect for its daring criticism, WAKE IN FRIGHT is ripe for rediscovery, and returns after 40 years to reclaim its title as one of the most awe-inspiring, brutal and stunning films of all time.

WAKE IN FRIGHT screens on Saturday, September 22 at 9:00pm and Wednesday, September 26 at 12:00pm.  It will open theatrically on Friday, October 5th in NYC, October 19th in LA and a national release to follow in late October.
