PACIFIC RIM WonderCon Trailer is Full of Kaijus and Inspirational Speeches

To say that I want to see PACIFIC RIM yesterday is an understatement. Back in WonderCon, the attendees were treated to a special reel cut made specially for them. Now the footage has been released thanks to Warner Brothers, and director Guillermo Del Toro, who also sent this wonderful massage here: "This was originally intended for only WonderCon, but after listening to so many of you asking for more of the movie online, I think it's time for me to show you more footage. Enjoy, my friends." Check out the trailer below.




Yeah, this looks great. I'm glad to that we're getting a chance to see more of the Kaiju designs given how the previous marketing has mostly focused on the Jaeger robots. Not only that, but there's a lot of really great shots of the fights themselves. I am a little skeptical in terms of how much of director Guillermo Del Toro's style will actually come through, however. Either way, I hope that they get more aggressive with the marketing as there seems to be very little outside of the Internet movie nerd circles for this movie.

PACIFIC RIM comes out July 12th, 2013. It is directed by Guillermo Del Toro. It stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and of course, Ron Perlman.
