The Local Haps: May 11th - May 17th

Yet another light week when it comes to repertory screenings which is fine since there are two huge movies coming out this with MAD MAX: FURY ROAD and PITCH PERFECT 2. Still, if you need to get out of the house and into a dark room filled with strangers, check out the events after the break.

Monday, May 11th
Alamo Drafthouse: It's that sexy and mysterious time of the month when we have the AGFA Secret Screening, a collection of weird and amazing 35mm movies.

Tuesday, May 12th
Alamo Drafthouse: Tonight you can do a rad double feature starting with the Vinegar Syndrome screening of SUPERSOUL BROTHER at 7:30 pm then stay for the 10 pm Video Vortex screening of NIGHT VISION about a demonic VCR.

Wednesday, May 13th
Alamo Drafthouse: Let's be real, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE is not what one would call a "great" movie, but damn it if it doesn't have its defenders. You can check out the Dolph Lundgren "classic" at 8:55 pm.

Sundown at Granada: This week's free movie will lead you to the danger zone with a free outdoor screening of TOP GUN. As always there will be half off whiskey and depending on the weather, it should start around 8 pm.

Sunday, May 17th
Alamo Drafthouse: I personally am so glad that the Drafthouse is showing CITIZEN KANE again at 1:45. For one, I still haven't seen it and I really need to step up my classic movie game.

Granada Theater: Another 80's-inspired double feature goes down today starting at 2:00 pm with John Hughes classic BREAKFAST CLUB and then at 4:30 pm, the classic but insanely boring FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH. There's $3 drinks specials as well!
