THE AVENGERS Full Trailer- So is it May yet??

Jonesy here. I'm not a comic aficionado by any sort of stretch of any kind of imagination. In fact, I pretty much fall into the stereotypical type who enjoys comics through the movie format. Shame on me, but in all honesty, that's resources and time I don't have. And if I have any questions, I just go to my buddies who know those worlds.

Now THE AVENGERS movie has intrigued me from the beginning. Not necessarily for the characters, but for the strange experiment the studio is doing. I think it's an absolutely fascinating experiment to release movies about the individual characters first that all lead up and bring them together into the culminating film. So far, the experiment has worked. And now this summer, we get the culmination of THE AVENGERS.

We saw a teaser last fall, at the end of CAPTAIN AMERICA, and during the Super Bowl. This new one expands more on the Super Bowl trailer showing more character interaction (which looks hilarious), angry Loki (yay Tom Hiddleston!), and some sort of Transformers figure (who I guess needs work in-between Transformers films).

Check it out!

That Michael Bay-esque rotating shot towards the end is still one of my favorites.

THE AVENGERS will be released May 4, 2012 starring Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johannson, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston and Jeremy Renner.

THE AVENGERS Teaser Trailer is Here!

Just in time for the holiday season reminding us it is never too early to start thinking about next summer, we have our first look at the new Avengers.

The teaser looks pretty badass with some fun character interactions, but there's almost nothing about the plot of the movie. Someone or something is shooting from space and hating on our big cities as always.  And the earth may perish, but I'll be damned if they won't avenge us!  Also, I guess cool gals don't look at explosions.

I'm really stoked to see the culmination of years worth of build up. This experiment of having multiple movies set up each of the perspective characters hasn't really been done before, and I'm excited to see them all come together.

So will this movie experiment pay off?  and I guess the bigger question is....will it beat  THE DARK KNIGHT RISES next summer in at the box office?

Thoughts?  Are you as excited as we are??

THE AVENGERS will be released May 4, 2012 starring Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johannson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jeremy Renner.

Holmes is back!  The sequel to the 2009 hit starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law is set to be released later this year.  By the looks of it, the duo is in the midst of another mystery that seems broader in scope.  They've seem to pick up another sidekick, Noomi Rapace, along their journey.

Here's your first glimpse at the new Sherlock Holmes movie:

Sherlock Holmes- She said

I was super stoked to see Sherlock Holmes. The trailer looked amazing, and I found myself watching it multiple times. I got a Pirates vibe from the trailer. It seemed that Guy Ritchie was wanting to reinvent a classic story with a fresh look at the character of Holmes. So, I went into this movie with high expectations. Sure enough, I could tell the path Ritchie wanted to take the movie, but it fell a little short. There was some magic missing from the story. The script tried to do too many things with too many minor characters and very few had a substantial payoff.

The best part of the movie was Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law. There chemistry on screen was amazing, and there bromance was so intense I was waiting for them to start “slappa dah bass”. Downey is in top form as the eccentric and somewhat insane Sherlock Holmes. He uses methods and figures out the little details that is nothing short than brilliant. I found myself laughing at his antics and enjoying his character more than anything else in the movie.  Law's Watson is as a man just wanting to get married and leave his life of solving crimes to settle down is a perfect contrast to Holmes.  However, there is always a longing in Watson's eyes when he looks at Holmes, like he's going to miss their crazy adventures.

I think there’s a real chance for this series. The characters that Downey and Law created are likable and extremely fun to watch. With a better script, the next movie could make up for this let down.
